How MokoRoll works
MokoRoll is a shared disposable camera that runs on your guests’ own phones. A host creates a film for the event and shares a QR code; every guest shoots a limited roll, 36 frames each; nobody sees a photo until the reveal, and then the whole roll develops at once into one album everyone can keep. Here is the whole thing, in the order it happens.
Six steps, host to album
Create a film and name the event
Sign up on the web at mokoroll.com or in the MokoRoll iPhone app, with an email address or a Google or Apple account, and create a film. A film is one roll for one event: give it the event's name and date. That is the whole setup; everything else is a choice you can leave on its default.
Set the size of the roll
Choose how many guests the film admits (5 are free; bigger tiers are a one-time purchase in the iPhone app, from $1.99), how many shots each guest gets (from 3 to 36, like a real roll), and when the photos develop: right away, at 11 PM at the end of the night, or at 11 AM on a day you pick.
Choose a film stock
Pick the look every photo develops in, from 28 hand-tuned film stocks built as real colour LUTs: colour negative, slide, cinema and black-and-white looks, or Original for no grade at all. Every guest's viewfinder shows the stock live, so they see the roll the way it will develop, and the ungraded original of every shot is kept.
Share the QR code or the link
The film comes with a QR code and a link. Put the code on the tables, in the program or on a screen, or send the link. A guest scans it, types a name and an email address, and is in the camera in their browser. No app to install, no password to set, no account to create. Guests on an iPhone can use the app if they already have it.
Everyone shoots the roll
Each guest has a real camera with a limited roll and a counter of shots left. There is no burst, no filter picker and no scrolling back through the night; when the roll is used up, it is used up. Each guest can see their own shots. Nobody can see anyone else's until the reveal, and that is enforced on MokoRoll's servers, not by the app.
The roll develops together
At the moment you set, every photo appears at once for everyone in the film, in the order it was taken. Anyone in the film can download a single photo or save the whole album as a zip, at the resolution the camera shot it. A guest can re-develop their own shots in another stock; the host can remove any photo from the film.
What it costs
A film for up to 5 guests is free, with 36 photos per guest, every film stock, the reveal and the downloads. Bigger events buy a one-time guest tier in the iPhone app, from $1.99 for 10 guests; nothing recurs, and a film can be upgraded after guests have already joined. Guests never pay anything.

It takes about a minute, and the first 5 guests are free.
